Coming up at Artrix

Music and comedy in Bromsgrove.

With the Edinburgh Festival looming, two comics are looking forward to trying out their new material in front of a local audience before heading north of the border. Having previously toured the nation’s arts centres and theatres with his show about teaching – Not Appropriate – former teacher turned stand-up comic Kevin Precious is embarking on his first Edinburgh run.

Gecko finds Kevin falling out with a Brighton New Age type, bemoaning a Facebook request from a former associate who’s doing very well (and is keen to show it),

Irish comedian Keith Farnan’s brand new show Anonymous examines how every day, we find out that more of our personal data has either been given away, or sold to the highest bidder, and yet we keep buying more electronic gadgets. Having appeared on BBC’s Michael McIntyre Comedy Roadshow, Keith Farnan has performed at festivals across the world. His Edinburgh Festival shows have proved a powerful mix of the personal and the political and have sold out their runs at major comedy festivals in the UK.

Kevin Precious and Keith Farnan’s Edinburgh Warm Up is on Saturday 27th June at 8.00 pm in the Artrix Studio. Tickets cost £10 (£12 on the door)

Direct from its success in London’s West End and a sold out tour, the Simon and Garfunkel Story is back on the road.

Performing as Paul Simon is Dean Elliott who rose to fame playing Buddy in the West End Olivier Award nominated The Buddy Holly Story. His co-partner, who plays Art Garfunkel, is David Tudor who has been working in film and theatre to wide acclaim since 2009.

This 50th Anniversary Celebration concert features a live band and the duo will be performing all the hits including Mrs Robinson, Cecilia, Bridge Over Troubled Water and many more.

Simon and Garfunkel are playing at Artrix on Thursday 2nd July at 8.00 pm. Tickets cost £17.00
