Celebration set for Assembly

Influential act set to mark quarter-century.

One of the leading pioneers of hip hop will be staging a rare UK gig in the region next week.  The influential Long Island trio De la Soul will be performing at the stunning 1,000 capacity Leamington Assembly on Sunday 6th May  as part of a short UK tour celebrating 25  years since the release of their seminal debut album, 3 Feet High and Rising.

One of the most artistic and creative hip-hop acts ever, the trio have had an unquestionable influence since the release of 3 Feet High and Rising in 1989.  Famous for their early hits Me, Myself and I and The Magic Number, De La Soul – aka  Posdnuos, Trugoy the Dove and Pasemaster Mase – have continued making music up to  the present day, including two collaborations with Gorillaz (Superfast Jellyfish and Feel  Good Inc, for which they won a Grammy).

Tickets are £25 plus booking fee, available online from http://www.leamingtonassembly.com/EventInfo.asp  or by calling the Assembly box office on 01926-311311.
