Or perhaps that should be unjust, because let’s be honest and say this was all down to a five minute resurrection. before that a listless Blues looked surely dead as the proverbial dodo until those last few minutes.
Posh won almost every ball in the air, even against Marc Roberts and the Juke, who are normally peerless in that department. The visitors attacked in packs, overloading Maxime Colin and Kristian Pedersen on both sides and frankly looked far more energetic and co-ordinated. At the back, Teden Mengi was decent but the defence were just over-run as our midfield were outbattled.
Ivan Sunjic lost the ball that led to their opener and Ryan Woods alternately sprayed it around usually to little effect or lost possession. Jordan James looked leggy but to his credit never hid. To compound things our build-up play was so slow and unco-ordinated that by the time Onel Hernandez, who had been our main theat against Barnsley, got the ball he was surrounded and with no outlet.
Up front Scott Hogan looked like a litte boy lost until his goal and the Juke battled hard but failed to convert two gilt-edged chances that he would normally have put away in his sleep. However, redemption came along with the substitutions, GAry Gardner scoring and Jordan Graham and Jeremie Bela showing that they, at least, had the skills to open up the opposition.
A dreadful showing but lacklustre though Blues were, at least they kept going to earn a point likely to be vital in giving us a chance of not being sucked back into the mix.
