City’s businesses in sporting challenge for grassroots charities.
The Birmingham Business Games is back for the third year running and is taking place at the new University of Birmingham Sport and Fitness Centre on Wednesday 5th July 2017.
Twenty teams from workplaces across the city will take part in an ultimate multi-sport festival organised by charities Sport Birmingham and LoveBrum. The tournament is set to feature fun variations of sports such as dodgeball, tennis, volleyball, cycling and includes a retro team challenge.
The winning team will get crowned at an end of evening presentation ceremony, alongside medals for second and third place. There will also be the opportunity to network in a fun and informal environment.
The event is sponsored by Purple Frog Property, a student property management, letting and investment business. Pat and Greg, Purple Frog’s directors and co-founders, said “We’re really excited to be sponsoring the first Birmingham Business Games to be held at the University of Birmingham’s new sports facility.
“As alumni of the university and a letting agent that’s spent ten years helping students in Birmingham find places to live, it’s great to see the business and university communities come together for these games. Every year we enter a team and this year’s no exception; in fact, we’re looking forward to sponsoring the event, but even more to taking part and in the long standing tradition of fighting talk and annihilating the opposition”.
Last year, over 200 of the city’s professionals were in attendance, along with BBC TV and radio presenter Phil Upton. This is the second year Sport Birmingham are partnering with grassroots charity, LoveBrum to help maximise opportunities to fundraise for local worthy causes across Birmingham.
