Date confirmed for Kings Heath Street Festival

Annual event set to bring community together.

Kings Heath Business Improvement District have announced that their unmissable annual community event will return for 2017, bringing the streets of Kings Heath to life on Sunday 10th September.

Organisers are planning another free, fun-filled day for the whole family, with local market traders, live music, traditional fun fair rides, a host of children’s activities, street food traders and outdoor bars among the entertainment lined up on the day.

Showcasing Kings Heath BID’s local businesses, retailers and restaurants, as well as some of Birmingham’s best traders and talent, the event will see York Road, Heathfield Road, Silver Street, Kings Heath Village Square, and parts of the High Street transformed into an all-day street party for the whole community to enjoy.

Now in it’s fourth year, attendance is expected to soar after a record-breaking estimated 10,000 revellers from across the city joined the celebrations last year, and organisers promising even more festivities on offer this year.

Kings Heath BID Town Centre Manager, Martin Mullaney, said: “Following the huge success of last year’s Kings Heath Street Festival, we are absolutely thrilled to confirm that the event will be taking place again this year on Sunday 10th September. The event is a real highlight of the BID calendar, bringing the community together to celebrate everything Kings Heath has to offer, and this year it’s going to be even bigger and better than before, so make sure the date is in your diaries!

“As the event is only a few months away, we’re now on the lookout for local street food traders, children’s entertainers, market traders and musicians to get involved in the event – please get in touch if you’d like to be part of what will be another amazing day!”
