Rooftop fitness at Fort Dunlop

Get in shape for summer up on the roof.

Fort Dunlop is preparing to take fitness to a whole new level with a series of exercise classes on its rooftop over the summer. Teaming up with 24/7 Fitness, which is based on the ground floor of the building, there will be seven al fresco classes a week in Zumba, circuits, Yoga, Body Combat, Pilates and Fit2fite, with the first class on Thursday, June 4th.

Available to both members and non-members, classes will take place on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, costing £5 to non-members.

There is space for 40 participants per class, on a first come first serve basis. Changing facilities and showers are available at the gym. To avoid missing out, places can be pre-booked through 24/7 Fitness.

Libby Witherden, Head of Marketing and Events at Fort Dunlop, said; “The roof of Fort Dunlop is such an incredible space and when 24/7 approached us with the idea of having some classes up there, we were really excited at the thought of it. Exercising on the roof, in the sunshine – hopefully – and fresh air and being able to see for miles around!

“The classes are open to anyone who’s interested, we’re anticipating some real interest in these so would advise people to act quickly if they want to get involved!”

English weather warning: in the event of rain and/or bad weather, the classes will be moved into the regular fitness studios of 24/7 Fitness.
