RICHARD LUTZ peers into a crystal ball to see how the Murdoch Saga might really be playing out behind the tattered scenery.
Now let me get this straight because a lot of polluted water is tumbling under a rickety bridge.
Vince Cable opens his big trap and waffles on to an eye turning female reporter on The Telegraph with a hidden microphone and brags how he is going to stop Murdoch in his tracks.
He is sacked by Cameron. Tory up-and-comer Jeremy Hunt comes in to take his place. Former News of the World editor Andy Coulson watches this all happen from his Downing Street cubbyhole. And now Leveson and company have heard how Hunt was partial to the Sky takeover anyway.
Call me a paranoid eyeball rotating conspiracy nut. But could it be re-written as:
”Tories get antsy over Cable’s obduracy over the Sky takeover and stitch him up. They conspire with The Telegraph to secretly record his inner thoughts about his powers to stop Murdoch. He plummets into the journalistic honeytrap set by the inner Tory mafia and the media. Cable is humiliated and goes quickly. Tories insert a tame pair of hands who has guaranteed Murdoch’s smooth power launch for more media control of the UK.
Coulson oversees this mega-Machiavellian deal and snickers all the way home…until Leveson and some of the less reptilian media spill the beans on the demented numbskulls at The Sun and the News of the World.”
And out it spews like raw time-encrusted vomit.
It is looking now, with the marvelous drama of the Leveson Inquiry, that we just may be seeing the appalling inner workings of how this government and the deranged wing of the British press really work.
And even if the above is only a fragment of the real truth, it just might show how this country is controlled, managed and deluded by an administration that is holding onto a fractured coalition.
But then again. I could be wrong.
But I could be right.
