We’re pretty sure that this has never happened before, so well worth highlighting, but Shard End lad Jeff Lynne has almost certainly just become the first Birmingham musican to have THREE records in the top ten of the UK Album Chart at the same time.

Jeff’s new solo album, Long Wave, enters at No. 7, Mr Blue Sky – The Very Best of ELO starts one notch below at No. 8 whilst All Over The World – The Very Best of ELO holds steady at No. 10 in it’s 174th week in the Top 100.

Sales were no doubt helped by BBC 4’s recent Jeff Lynne/Electric Light Orchestra evening, but while Jeff has lived in California for many years, ELO drummer Bev Bevan is still very much part of the local music scene, also working for BBC Radio WM. So our congratulations to him too.
