Leee John, frontman of British jazz funk legends Imagination, returns to Birmingham.
With record sales exceeding 30 million albums worldwide, award-winning singer, songwriter, and producer Leee John — of the iconic 80s crossover soul, jazz, and funk pioneers Imagination — returns to the live stage in 2026 with a series of special UK shows including what promises to be an unforgettable night at Birmingham’s Jam House on 23rd September.
The Peace, Love & Light Tour offers an extraordinary musical journey, celebrating Leee’s timeless hits and magnetic stage presence. Over a remarkable 40+ year career, he has captivated audiences with classics such as Just an Illusion, Body Talk, Music and Lights, Flashback and In the Heat of the Night, alongside acclaimed solo music work.
As a solo artist, Leee has collaborated with international talents including Damon Albarn & Gorillaz, Bill Sharpe (Shakatak), Mark King & Mike Lindup (Level 42), Friðrik Karlsson (Mezzoforte), and Latin Grammy winner Jorge Vercillo. Recently, he has been creating new music with jazz legend Elaine Delmar, DDG Project and Chicago dance powerhouse Byron Stingily/Ten City, with more new releases planned for 2026.
Continuing to tour globally, Leee has shared the stage with icons such as The Jacksons, Earth, Wind & Fire, Kool & The Gang, Nile Rodgers & Chic, and Incognito. Honoured with a UK Lifetime Achievement Award and a Humanitarian Award in France, he remains a true ambassador of music, love, and compassion.
Now Leee and Byron Stingily, the renowned voice behind Ten City, have joined forces on the uplifting and inspiring new single Proud & Bold, a powerful musical statement celebrating self-belief, resilience, unity and hope, released on Friday 24th July.
Written and produced by Leee John and Dee Vaz for LJ Music Ltd, Proud & Bold combines soulful vocals, inspiring lyrics and contemporary production to create an anthem designed to uplift and connect people from all walks of life.
This momentous collaboration brings together two of the most distinctive and celebrated voices in soul and dance music. The release is further enhanced by an impressive lineup of musicians and producers, featuring string arrangements by Shumya, drums by Crispin Taylor, bass by Isaiah Brown, guitar by Yves Erson, and keyboards performed by Toby Baker, Dee Vaz, and Leee John.
