1000 Trades celebrates tenth anniversary

Two-site venue to host special birthday party.

Independent Birmingham bar and kitchen 1000 Trades is celebrating its 10th anniversary this summer with a special edition of its annual summer party, expanding across two venues in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.

Set to take place across 1000 Trades On The Park in Bearwood and 1000 Trades Jewellery Quarter, the event promises a full day and night of music, community, food, and dancing, moving from relaxed daytime sessions into late-night vibes.

The daytime portion at OTP will focus on a laid-back, family-friendly atmosphere with outdoor drinks, food, DJs and good vibes before partygoers are transported across the city via a free party bus to the evening session at JQ, where the pace shifts firmly toward the dancefloor.

The event will feature a carefully curated lineup of DJs spanning disco, soul, funk, jazz-house, deep house and credible 80s selections, alongside two live performances.

London collective Handson Family ft Vanessa Freeman will bring their celebrated blend of broken beat, soulful house, bruk, Afro-house and jazz-funk to Birmingham for a special live set featuring vocalist Vanessa Freeman.

Meanwhile, the inclusive community choir Some Voices Birmingham is known for bringing people together through contemporary pop music. Expect welcoming performances that encourage audiences to sing along and get involved.

A free shuttle bus will run between OTP and JQ from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm, while the England v Ghana World Cup match will also be shown on big screens at both venues.

“2016 feels like yesterday and forever ago all at once. Huge love and thanks to everyone who’s been along for the ride and supported us through the highs and lows. We can’t wait to raise a glass and shake a leg with you all on the 27th,” said 1000 Trades director John Stapleton.
