Andy Munro watches as Blues are beaten by QPR.
This was another disappointing away performance by the Blues. Having said that, we nearly nicked a point at the end thanks to the impressive Tyler Roberts, although the only other player that really deserved some plaudits was Demarai Gray, who was behind most of what was good from the team.
As usual Blues had the lion’s share of possession and if only the old adage that possession is nine-tenths of the game was true. In fact the amount of shots QPR had compared to the paltry number from Blues said it all.
Phil Neumann was arguably at fault for the first Rangers goal, being out-jumped and out-muscled by Dunne and how Osayi Samuel is an international footballer must say something about the state of Nigerian football. Equally disappointing were the reinstated ‘dynamic’ duo of Tomoki Iwata and Paik Seung-ho, who were pedestrian in midfield whilst up front the Duck had anything but a quacking game and Jay Stansfield hardly got a sniff of goal.
Bringing on the diminutive Kyogo Furuhashi made no difference as he ran around as usual to little effect. Tommy Doyle and Lyndon Dykes to be fair did a decent job when they came on but it was not enough against a determined Rangers.
Yet another defeat on the road and surely Blues manager Chris Davies must start looking at a different approach away from home.
