Blues draw at Wrexham with Andy Munro happy enough.
This was a decent draw given Blues’ recent horrendous away form but in the first forty-five it was the usual tale of the team having the vast majority of the play, albeit in their own half, but moving forward at a rather laboured pace
The young Blues keeper James Beadle pulled off some decent saves whilst the team were under the cosh but again they looked vulnerable defending corners. Such is the price of fielding a diddyman eleven, Lyndon Dykes and Christoph Klarer excepted. Any bright moments in attack came from Demarai Gray and one attempt from Lyndon Dykes.
Luckily Blues started the second half far better and an unusually quiet Jay Stanfield set things up for the impressive Patrick Roberts to finish with aplomb. The latter must surely have earned a starting place in the next match, with his goal crowning a spirited performance.
In fact, Blues could have gone on to win the game given their superiority after against their Hollywood ‘rivals’ but overall it was probably a fair result. It was a welcome point on the road before the international break, which Blues normally go into on the back of a disappointing loss.
