Miss Moneypenny’s anniversary celebrated classically

Legendary clubbing brand to mark thirty years with arena event.

To mark the upcoming thirtieth anniversary of Miss Moneypenny’s, DJ Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan will be headlining the VIP arena at Crooked House In The Park Festival on August 27th.

With the epic Crooked House In The Park less than a month away, the team has announced that the VIP arena hosted by Miss Moneypenny’s has sold out. Supporting Jim Ryan will be the incredible line-up of Jeremy Healey, Brandon Block and Grant Nelson.

Miss Moneypenny’s and Chuff Chuff, are both internationally acknowledged legendary clubbing brands. Having started in Birmingham in 1993, it went on to become a clubbing institution for the wild and outrageous; capturing the hedonistic spirit of the 90’s.

One of the creators, DJ Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan has become one of clubland’s most established figures; an innovator, a visionary, and an ambassador for dance music. He has built an enviable legacy as an internationally respected DJ, a talented remixer, producer and radio show presenter.

This pioneering spirit has seen him tour the world as well as hold down one of the longest residencies in Ibiza, Miss Moneypenny’s legendary residency from 1995 to 2010 in Pacha and El Divino.

Jim, who resides in Harborne, talks about the upcoming 30th anniversary of Miss Moneypenny’s and his sold out VIP arena at Crooked House In The Park Festival on August 27th.

He said, “The Crooked House team has made a name for itself with a day truly dedicated to celebrating electronic dance music in all its glory and we are really happy to be part of it. This is the first time Miss Moneypenny’s has played at Crooked House In The Park and the excitement from our fanbase is palpable.”

The one-day festival at Beacon Park on Sunday 27th August includes an amazing star-studded line-up with exciting artists from House and Drum & Bass to UK Garage. Sunday’s main event ramps up the energy across six stages including Groove Armada, Pendulum, Sam Divine, Low Steppa, Todd Terry, David Rodigan, Artful Dodger and DJ Luck & MC Neat.

This year, organisers have taken this huge scale event up a gear with global headliners, VIP experiences, a brand new experience – The Rum & Reggae Beach – and an endless day of activities, continuing the demand and popularity for the festival’s third year.

That’s not all, the August Bank Holiday kicks off with the Ministry Of Sound Classical event with Judge Jules on the Friday night which promises to be spectacular.

This is no mere DJ set! Ministry of Sound have joined forces with some of the most talented players in classical music to create a Ministry of Sound take on what an orchestral performance can be. The very best of dance music history will be brought to life in a breath-taking 31-piece orchestral performance of iconic dance classics.

Get set to relive some of the most incredible dance music of all time against the beautiful backdrop of Beacon Park underneath the festival big top and enjoy classics such as Hey Boy Hey Girl (The Chemical Brothers), Insomnia (Faithless) and Right Here, Right Now (Fatboy Slim).

Adam Turbill, MD of Crooked House Events said: “We are incredibly excited to be bringing DJ talent of this calibre to our hometown. Get festival ready! Because we can’t wait to show everyone what’s in store!”
