The Big Hoot hits Bournville.
A brand new character has been unwrapped at Cadbury World, as The Big Hoot swoops into Birmingham.
Buttons will be joining the iconic Cadbury characters at the Bournville based attraction this summer, alongside the likes of the Caramel Bunny, Freddo, Creme Egg and Mr Cadbury’s Parrot.
The aptly named owl has been specially designed for Cadbury World by artist Michelle Heron, who worked with the attraction to come up with the chocolate-themed design. Appearing to be unwrapped from the iconic Cadbury purple foil, the front of the owl features a mosaic of Cadbury Buttons to mimic the owl’s feathers, whilst the back includes a cocoa tree to celebrate the origins of chocolate.
Set to turn heads thanks to its striking design, there’s sure to be no shortage of visitors looking to take an ‘owl-fie’ with the newest addition, with the added bonus of some Cadbury prizes up for grabs through the official Big Hoot app.
Buttons has taken his perch at Cadbury World as part of the ten-week project, which will see him form part of The Big Hoot trail until Sunday 27th September. Featuring 89 owls in total, each standing at 165cm tall, the visually stunning trail is designed to help drive tourism and showcase the highlights of the UK’s second city.
Presented by public art specialists Wild in Art, in partnership with Birmingham Children’s Hospital, the charity initiative has brought together businesses, schools and community projects across the city. At the end of the project, the intricate owl statues will be auctioned on Thursday 15 October to help raise funds for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Buttons has been under wraps for a couple of months now, so we’re thrilled to finally be able to unveil the fantastic chocolate design! The Big Hoot is set to be the talk of the city this summer, and we’re sure Buttons will be extremely popular with our visitors.”
