Spice Kitchen are a local family run spice company from Walsall run by mother and son team Sanjay and Shashi Aggarwal. In order to raise money for their nominated charity FRANK Water, they are hosting a charity supperclub on Saturday 18th April at their house in Walsall. “We are hosting a charity supperclub as part of FRANK Water’s Karma Korma’ campaign, where we cook some authentic Indian food and in return people donate what they feel the meal is worth.”

Guests will be treated to a number of authentic Indian dishes that Shashi & Sanjay will prepare, with a special focus on regional dishes not found in your typical British curry house. Highlights will include spiced cassava, dokhra, a lightly spiced savoury sponge dish and Rajasthani tandoori chicken cooked in their tandoor oven.

Shashi learned her food skills in Kenya and India where she grew up, and founded an artisan spice business called Spice Kitchen back in 2013. “I’ve explored lots of new cuisines, techniques and dining experiences over the years,” she says. “Now I’m reinterpreting the food of my childhood.”

Sanjay came up with the idea of a supper club having volunteered with charity FRANK Water over the past few years. “We will also do a spice showcase where people can hopefully leave with a better understanding of where spices are from and how they change the taste of food” he says.

Guests at the Spice Kitchen Supperclub should bring their own alcohol and are asked to make donations that will all go to charity. To RSVP for the Saturday 18th April event please email [email protected].
