Birmingham college talks business at Parliament

Westminster visit for staff members.

Members of staff at Abbey College Birmingham recently benefited from opportunity to visit the Houses of Parliament to meet thr Rt. Hon Gisela Stuart, Labour MP for Edgbaston and put their business-related questions to her.

Abbey College Birmingham’s Marketing Officer, Emma Bottamley, was able to visit the iconic buildings before meeting Gisela Stuart MP in Westminster as part of an event organised by Future Faces, a networking forum for young business professionals in Birmingham.

During the day Emma had the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of the Queen and past monarchs by visiting the Robing Room and prestigious Royal Gallery, as well as experiencing what a day in the life of an MP entails, whilst taking in the history of Parliament.

She was also able to explore the House of Commons and see the iconic green benches, despatch box and speaker’s chair, before journeying through the House of Lords where new legislation is made and current laws are shaped.

Emma commented: “The trip to Parliament was a really interesting experience and Gisela was an inspirational person to meet. It was great to have been given this fantastic opportunity.”
