From Italian pizzas to French baguettes, Southside’s restaurants offer something to suit all dads on June 15th, including a special Father’s Day buffet at Chinese restaurant, Ming Moon, where the big fella can choose from over 60 dishes! For those looking for a more traditional Sunday lunch, the Loft Lounge is offering a selection of roast meats including beef, chicken, pork or lamb with all the trimmings from £9.95 per person.

Elsewhere, dads in need of some TLC can take advantage of the district’s selection of male grooming salons. Treat him to a classic barbers shop experience with one of the finest wet shaves in Birmingham at Turkish Golden Scissors, or a cut and finish from Saint Salons.

If the old man is a muso, he’ll appreciate one of the oldest record shops in the world, The Diskery. Founded in 1952, the record shop will offer Dad a trip down memory lane with its assortment of rare and original copies of records ranging from 1950 to 1990. Other retailers, including Richer Sounds and Superfi on Smallbrook Queensway, provide perfect present inspiration with a large selection of hi-fi and audio visual kit to choose from.

Julia Chance, Southside BID manager, said: “Southside has a wealth of places for families to take dads this Father’s Day, whether they’re looking for a family lunch, nostalgic afternoon to pick up a gadget or two. The only difficulty is what to pick!”
