Little Mix at Birmingham’s Nightingale Club

Fresh-faced X Factor winners Little Mix have been announced as the latest act in a late summer line up at Birmingham’s Nightingale Club.

Little MixThe four-piece shot to fame after becoming the first group to win the hit TV show last December, beating Marcus Collins in the final.

Little Mix’s debut single, a cover of Damien Rice’s Cannonball, went to number one shortly after. The girl group’s new single, Wings, is currently set for release on August 26.

Their hotly tipped show on September 29 follows a string of live entertainment at the iconic Kent Street club throughout August and into September.

Lawson, a four-piece British pop-rock band signed to Polydor Records, who supported The Wanted, play at the club on Saturday August 4.

Brit and Mobo award-winning soul and R&B singer Lemar takes to the stage on August 11 to promote his fifth studio album.

Blue’s Simon Webbe and Duncan James play a DJ set on August 18 and on September 1 Sonique, lead vocalist on two S’Express singles and 2001 Brit Award winner for best British female solo artist, brings her latest release to the Nightingale.

Bosses at the city nightclub say the line-up is part of on-going commitment to re-establish the club as a venue for live music as well as current DJ sets to appeal to wide audiences.

Lawrence Barton who rescued the club from receivership nine months ago, added: “The Nightingale Club is a venue of paramount importance not only to Birmingham but to the UK’s wider gay community. We are very keen to see that the Nightingale becomes one of the biggest gay super clubs offering a good variety of music and entertainment, which is not only good for the LGBT community but also for Southside and Birmingham’s leisure economy.”
