Charity offers reward for information after death of pensioner subject to brutal attack.
The independent charity Crimestoppers is offering a reward for information after a pensioner died following a vicious and brutal attack at his home during a robbery.
Arthur ‘Bob’ Gumbley, 87, was found with serious injuries at his home in Endwood Drive, Sutton Coldfield, late on Tuesday 21 November 2017. He was treated in hospital for multiple injuries to his face, neck, chest and arms, but sadly on Monday 11 December, he died.
A reward of up to £10,000 is being offered for information given to the charity Crimestoppers that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for Arthur `Bob’ Gumbley’s murder.
Pauline Hadley, West Midlands Regional Manager at the Crimestoppers charity, said: “Everyone has a right to feel safe, especially in their own home. To attack a defenceless older man in this way is utterly appalling. His family have been left devastated and the community shocked and concerned.
