SURGEON & STEVE DAVIS – 10th November

Described by Fact Magazine as “arguably the finest techno DJ in the world”, Surgeon performs at the Hare & Hounds for a imited capacity party, with support from ex-world snooker champion Steve Davis. Since leaving snooker, Steve has taken to electronic music, performing all over the world and at festivals such as Glastonbury.

ARTWORK PRESENTS ART’S HOUSE ON TOUR – 11th November

Artwork performs all night long as part of his Art’s House UK tour. A true icon and pioneer of dance music, Artwork has been at the forefront of many different scenes, pioneering dubstep with the likes of Skream & Benga, to producing groundbreaking techno under his Grain alias, and more recently creating one of the biggest house records from the past few years – Let Go of This Acid. With an extended set from the man himself, you can expect to hear everything disco, house and techno, in the intimate surroundings of an incarnation of his front room, as the venue is transformed.

METALHEADZ – 17th November
After a run of sell out shows at the Hare & Hounds, drum ‘n’ bass promoters Breakthru return, this time showcasing one of the most influential d’n’b labels of all time – Metalheadz, founded by Goldie MBE. The lineup consists of Doc Scott, Commix & Benny L.

CHAOS IN THE CBD & anu – 18th November

The kiwi brothers first gained underground notoriety with their debut release on Rhythm section in 2015, Midnight in Peckham. That trademark sound of complex drum patterns and ethereal sounds hasn’t left their production, but their DJ’s sets can take on a whole different beast. We’re expecting Chaos to bring the party with a high energy set of Disco, House, Techno and everything in between. Support comes from the incredibly talented illustrator and DJ, anu.

CHILDHOOD – 19th November

Following the release of their critically acclaimed album Universal High, the band return to the Hare & Hounds this November. Ben says, “Universal High’ represents many things to us as a band. It signifies change, both musically and mentally whilst also revisiting influences that confounded our interest in music in the first place. What I think is noticeable is the direct nature of the songs and its influences. Being surrounded by soul music, classic pop songs and music with any form of groove all my life, these influences began to speak for themselves within these new songs we were writing”.

BLACK LIPS – 20th November

Black Lips were born of DIY ethic, working their way from sweaty basement shows in Georgia to huge crowds at international music festivals (including a performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest that appears in Terrence Malick’s forthcoming film Song to Song) to tours in such far flung locales as India, Jordan, Cyprus, Egypt, Lebanon, Iraqi Kurdistan, the United Arab Emirates, and many more. Their latest album, Satan’s graffiti or God’s art? vindicates Black Lips for sticking it out through many years of shifting trends and buzz bands; a sonically captivating document that is as creatively unhinged as it is precisely executed, one of the rawest and most expansive albums in the band’s storied history.

THE MOUSE OUTFIT – 23rd November
The Mouse Outfit are a hip hop production team and live band founded and run by Chini +Defty. The Autumn/Winter tour will be fronted by Dr Syntax, Dubbul O + Ellis Meade.
Their debut 19 track album ‘Escape Music’ was released in May 2013 featuring Black Josh, Dr Syntax, Dubbul O, Fox, Kosyne, Lyricalligraphy, Sparkz, DJ Sammy B-Side and Truthos Mufasa. It won the Wordplay magazine Album of the Year award. Their second album Step Steadier was released in 2015. It was included in the ABC News ‘Top 50 albums of 2015’ An album of remixes was released in 2016 including remixes by Dub Phizix, Tall Black Guy, Mungo’s Hifi and DJ Vadim

NATTY – 28th November
It can be easy to fall into the trap of trying to pigeonhole this eclectic artist’s style as reggae-soul. However, scratch beneath the surface and there are hidden depths to the chart-topping Natty who effortlessly fuses many genres and vibes into a melting pot of sounds which can be described as the gritty yet uplifting soundtrack to many young people’s lives growing up in the UK today. Being of African and British heritage, he soaked up the sounds of artists including Neil Young, Fela Kuti and Bob Marley. The vast scope of influences can be heard within Natty’s own compositions, yet he brings something refreshing and unique to the world of popular music.
