MPs and local businesses Dedicate a Seat with Birmingham Ormiston Academy.
Local MPs and businesses are amongst those showing their support for Birmingham Ormiston Academy’s Old Rep takeover, by dedicating a seat at the iconic theatre.
Gisela Stuart MP and Harrison Clark Rickerbys solicitors were amongst the first to dedicate seats at the Old Rep Theatre, with their plaques being unveiled at a special performance of Betty Blue Eyes on Friday 20th March.
Giving people the chance to become a part of one of Birmingham’s most beloved sites, Dedicate a Seat is a great opportunity for local businesses, parents and those with a passion for education and theatre to support BOA. All money raised from the project will be injected directly back into the theatre, helping to develop the venue as a stage for young and talented performers from the region.
Having taken over the running of the Old Rep Theatre in September, BOA has utilised the venue as a unique platform for students from BOA to develop their performing arts skills both on and off stage. The theatre has been used by students studying subjects including musical theatre, acting, dance and production, and has already hosted a number of student and amateur group performances this year.
Seats are still available, and for a donation of just £250, or £400 for two seats, your dedication will include an inscribed plaque featuring a personal message, and will be guaranteed for five years. Whether you’re promoting a business, commemorating a special occasion, celebrating a loved one or simply want to show your love for the theatre, the dedicated seats are the perfect opportunity support arts within the region.
Gaynor Cheshire, principal at BOA, said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the support of those who have already dedicated a seat at the Old Rep Theatre, enabling us to continue utilising such a fantastic venue as part of our education programme.
“The students have already relished being involved in performances here at the theatre, which provides them with exciting and valuable experiences to support their future careers and aspirations.”
