World Party are appearing at Glee Club Cardiff and Glee Club Birmingham in April.
The shows form part of their UK tour, following their recently much heralded show at the Royal Albert Hall and Arkeology box set.
Karl Wallinger, singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, formed World Party following his time in The Waterboys, recording This Is The Sea that featured The Whole Of The Moon. He has also worked with Sinead O’Connor including on her debut The Lion and the Cobra album.
The band’s second album Goodbye Jumbo was voted ‘Album of the Year’ by Q Magazine, for which they also received a Grammy nomination and played at Glastonbury festival. Their third hit album Bang! reached no.2 in the UK Albums Chart and featured the single Is It Like Today. Their fourth album Egyptology included the world-wide hit She’s The One, which was recorded by Robbie Williams and won an Ivor Novello Award.
Karl later worked with Peter Gabriel on the Big Blue Ball project album, before heading out with World Party on tour with Steely Dan.
