Artrix kicks off its Autumn music programme on Saturday, September 8th with the visit of Bromsgrove based band Virgil and The Accelerators supported by Albany Down.
The three piece blues / rock band of Virgil Mcmahon (guitar), Gabriel McMahon (drums) and Jack Timms (bass) is gigging constantly in its own right – both in the U.K and in Europe – and is taking the festival season by storm ( viz its recent main stage slot at the Upton Blues Festival ) and has been touring also with the likes of Uriah Heap, Wilko Johnson and Blackfoot.
The sound of Albany Down, is no nonsense rhythm and blues, with a bit of jazz-funk to mix it up – quite ’80s in places – but with contemporary energy. Paul Jones raved recently about the four piece band on his Radio 2 Show.
The Dance Floor’s down for the show, which starts at 8.00.p.m, and it promises to be a cracking night.
Tickets at £ 12 (£10) are available from the Box Office on 01527-577330 or online at www.artrix.co.uk
