The new season showcases an array of performances at Town Hall and Symphony Hall. From internationally acclaimed comedian Jimeoin to Cumbrian indie rock sextet Sea Power, February sees a varied and exciting programme. There is plenty more live music to choose from, with three-time Grammy Award-winning Lucinda Williams and The Pretenders, still going strong with 45 years of classics under their belts, gracing the Symphony Hall and Town Hall stages in March. And April sees the return of Rumours of Fleetwood Mac as well as Lemar performing chart-topping hits and fan favourites.

The award-winning Daniel Martinez Flamenco Company presents its long-awaited Andalucia, a stunning flamenco production accompanied by a chamber orchestra, which promises to be an unmissable Flamenco experience on the Town Hall stage (15th March). Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia celebrate the music of Tchaikovsky, the legendary composer of the glorious scores for The Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, and The Nutcracker – the jewels of ballet’s classical repertory. Birmingham Royal Ballet’s world-class dancers will perform some of the highlights from these great works on the Symphony Hall stage (28yj March). And Giovanni Pernice is back in Birmingham in 2024 with his brand-new live show, Let Me Entertain You (4th April). The Strictly Come Dancing champion and BAFTA winner will be joined by a world-class cast of professional dancers and West End performers to bring the Symphony Hall audience non-stop action and an unforgettable experience.

B:Music is also providing the laughs this Spring with a plethora of comedy A-listers to choose from. Stand-up stars including Jonathan Pie: Heroes and Villains (2nd February), Stewart Lee: Basic Lee (3rd February), Ed Byrne: Tragedy Plus Time (9t February), Jimeoin: The Craic (9th February), Daniel Sloss: Can’t (23rd February) and Ross Noble: Jibber Jabber Jamboree (24th February) will be taking to the Town Hall and Symphony Hall stages for the ultimate feelgood night out. And for one night only, for the first time ever in a live environment, Leigh Francis will be bringing all his favourite characters to Symphony Hall (31st March). From Keith Lemon, Bear and Avid Merrion, to ‘David Dickinson’, ‘Ant and Dec’ and Myrtle, this show will be packed full of hilarious sketches, with buckets of audience interaction.

Two-time Grammy award-winning singer and instrumentalist Rhiannon Giddens (pictured) will be on a spectacular journey through her own brand of folk music, with its miles-deep historical roots and contemporary sensibilities, which she has stretched into just about every field imaginable, including opera, ballet, and film (22nd February). B:Music will host the London Concert Orchestra as they play Nick Urata’s calypso-infused score of the award-winning 2014 film Paddington, while the movie plays on a giant HD screen at Symphony Hall (5th April).

The Queen’s Cartoonists bring animated films to life, perfectly synchronising their performances with the films projected on stage. The band matches the energy of the cartoons, leading the audience through a world of virtuosic musicianship, multi-instrumental mayhem, and comedy (19th April). And there are even more award winners coming to B:Music’s stages, including 23-year-old jazz singing sensation Samara Joy who performs at Town Hall (25th April). Samara Joy took home two Grammy Awards in 2023; Best Jazz Vocal Album for Linger Awhile and the auspicious Best New Artist award. Her voice, rich and velvety yet precociously refined, has already cemented her status as the first Gen Z jazz singing star.

The whole family will enjoy Symphony Hall’s Justham Family Room & Jane How Room, experiencing Mystery and Mischief in Moominvalley (10 February). This heartwarming show provides an unforgettable journey to Moominvalley where everyone is welcome, nature thrives, and adventures are plentiful. Brand new for 2024, Fireman Sam Live! The Great Camping Adventure comes to Town Hall. (17th February). Join Monster, Dragon, Alien, and Unicorn as Tom Fletcher’s beloved ‘Who’s in Your Book?’ series makes its debut as a brand-new musical production, There’s a Monster in Your Show (6th-7th April). Or visit Symphony Hall to sing and dance along with the Kidz Bop Kids on their Never Stop live tour as they perform today’s biggest hits, live on stage (6th April), the ultimate pop concert for kids – and the entire family.

B:Music is bringing some world-class speakers with plenty of stories to its stages. Fresh off the tractor on Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat farm, Kaleb Cooper (19th February) gives audiences the chance to participate in some rather interesting rural pastimes during the show, as well as highlighting some of the many challenges that British farmers face today. And Professor Alice Roberts is at Town Hall to launch her new book Crypt (26th February). This final instalment of her acclaimed trilogy delves into life, death, and disease in the Middle Ages and beyond.

Other highlights of the Spring 2024 season include the nation’s favourite newlyweds, Jamie Laing and Sophie Habboo coming to Symphony Hall. NewlyWeds: The Honeymoon Tour will see Jamie and Sophie sharing their experiences navigating married life and leaving no stone unturned (21st April). Sunday Times bestselling author, journalist, and TV presenter Candice Brathwaite, along with presenter, actor, and TikTok comedy sensation Coco Sarel bring their hit podcast Closet Confessions to Town Hall (26th April). And ABC perform their classic album The Lexicon of Love in its entirety plus the band’s other greatest hits at Symphony Hall (12th February).
