Award-winning musical comes to The Alex for festive season.
This December, Birmingham audiences will be treated to four weeks of an Olivier award-winning musical when Fiddler on the Roof comes to the Alexandra Theatre, Birmingham for a festive run from Tuesday 9th December–Saturday 3rd Janusay 2026. Ahead of the show’s arrival, Roman Lytwyniw, alternate Fiddler in the production, paid a visit to the second city and took to the roof of the 124-year-old theatre to take in the sights.

Following sold-out seasons at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and London’s Barbican Theatre, the UK tour of this musical masterpiece is the first in over 12 years, featuring one of the finest scores ever written including: If I Were A Rich Man, Tradition, Matchmaker and Sunrise, Sunset.
It’s 1905 in the tiny village of Anatevka where Tevye, a Jewish milkman, lives his life by their proud traditions. For his five daughters, that means a visit from the matchmaker. As each daughter challenges his beliefs, against the backdrop of a changing world, can Tevye hold on to his roots, or must he bend to the will of his children and learn to embrace the unfamiliar?
