Grecians put to flight

Andy Munro sees Blues get back to winning ways at Exeter.

Blues and their many loyal supporters travelled into the heart of the West Country to record a much needed 2-0 win against Exeter City.

However, yet again we struggled for goals despite the usual impressive possession stats. Whilst the result was never in doubt, it was still a relief to see Jay Stansfield clinically despatch his penalty to give Blues a two-goal margin.

In defence Alex Cochrane was the pick of the players and Ben Davies has done his selection chances a power of good alongside Christop Klarer. This left Krystian Bielik at full-back where he picked up his usual booking but was solid enough. Maybe if Davies settles in well Beilik could move into midfield to partner Tomoki Iwata, which would mean the multi-talented Paik Seung-ho would be released to use his talents further up the pitch.

Up top, Keshi Anderson, Alfie May and Stansfield were decent but there is still a bit of fluency missing and this undoubtedly needs sorting out given the undoubted talents of the players concerned.

Overall, it was a decent day at the office and one hopes that this will be a confidence booster to set us up for another impressive run, although nothing is guaranteed when it’s the Blues that we’re talking about.
