Blues draw at Mansfield as Andy Munro watches.
This was never going to be an easy ask with a Clough in charge of the opposition. Whilst we had twice as many shots and over 70 per cent of possession, such stats can be misleading with Mansfield drawing out two excellent saves from Blues’ keeper Ryan Allsop.
Overall, a draw could be judged to be a fair result and whilst Wycombe are now a dangerously close three points away, a point on the road against one of our leading challengers is perhaps not to be sniffed at, particularly given our current injury position
Although Alex Cochrane had a decent game, as did Ben Davies to a slightly lesser extent, the rest of the defence seemed uneasy at times apart from the excellent Ryan Woods
Anchoring midfield, Pak Seung-ho continues to ooze class even if his partner Tomok Iwata had, for him, a bit of an off day. Further forward Keshi Anderson was the pick as he quietly and efficiently went about his business. Willum Willumsson was also one of those more effective, netting the Blues opener.
Not so impressive was Lyndon Dykes, because despite having a tattooed persona and a build to frighten the life out of most opposition central defenders, his finishing was again woeful and one wonders whether, if the chances had fallen to either Alfie May or Jay Stansfield, we would have been going home with maximum points.
