Posh brought down to earth

Blues’ good start continues with a win at Peterborough, watched by Andy Munro.

As is their recent habit, Blues started slowly and were made to pay when Bailey Peacock-Farrell was yet again caught in possession. His performances are beginning to be reminiscent of the last Blues keeper who originally came from Leeds… step forward Gary Sprake! Things got even worse when a static Blues defence allowed Posh a free header from a corner.

Yet, in fairness, this Blues side know how to bounce back and it was apt that their man of the match Willum Willumsson hammered the ball home from an Emil Hansson cross. The Norwegian winger was then again the provider with a cross where Lyndon Dykes’ header was foiled by a goalline clearance.

Blues started to turn the screw in the second half although it was a stroke of fortune when a shot from the ever-impressive Jay Stansfield was turned into his own net by a Posh defender This was followed by increasing pressure and a number of corners, of which one resulted in Krystian Bielik powering the ball home.

Once in the lead, Blues literally passed the opposition into submission and eventually were full value for three points against a more than useful Posh side. A final word for the subs, who helped change the tenor of the game with Marc Leonard a safe pair of hands in midfield, together with lively performances from both Keshi Anderson and Scott Wright. All in all, another decent day at the office.
