The Heath Bookshop brings top talent to Birmingham to share their books.

The Heath Bookshop, a thriving independent bookshop in Kings Heath is bringing top talent to Birmingham this winter in a series of conversations with authors and poets that include a Hollywood Actor – Richard Armitage, Award-winning Comedians Joe Wilkinson and Henry Paker and the Banksy of Poetry, Birmingham’s own Brian Bilston.

Events run at a range of venues through late November into December, book here.

Catherine and Claire, co-owners at The Heath Bookshop said: “We are so excited about the author events coming up in the next few months. We’ve been incredibly lucky over the last 14months to welcome the A List of authors to our shop from Kit de Waal to Grace Dent and so to add the likes of Richard Armitage, Joe Wilkinson, Henry Paker to that list is amazing as well as a return visit from Brian Bilston.

“Not only do we want to shout about books and reading but we want to be part of the story of amazing events happening in Birmingham and in particular our corner of Kings Heath. We hope to see you at one of our author events this winter.”

Actor and novelist Richard Armitage joins The Heath Bookshop on Saturday 25th November. This event will take place at King Edward Camp Hill School for Girls, 7pm – 8pm, Richard will be talking about his book Geneva, in conversation with Crime fiction writer, Jo Callaghan, author of In the Blink of an Eye. Richard and Jo will be in conversation for about an hour, followed by a Q&A session and a book signing.

Comedian, actor and podcaster (Chatabix) Joe Wilkinson will be joined by comedian and illustrator of the book, Henry Paker, to talk about his new autobiography Joe Wilkinson – my autobiography. Joe and Henry will be in conversation with Catherine from The Heath Bookshop. Taking place on Wednesday 29th November, 6.30pm–9pm at the CBSO Centre, Birmingham, Joe, Henry and Catherine will be in conversation for about an hour, followed by an audience Q&A and a book signing.

Brian Bilston will join The Heath Bookshop at Birmingham City University, for another of his brilliant events on 7th December, talking and reading from his latest book, And So This is Christmas. This event will be held at the City South Campus on Westbourne Road, Brian will be speaking for around an hour and there will be a book signing afterwards.

The Heath Bookshop is based in Kings Court a lovely courtyard area off the main high street in Kings Heath. It’s run by two book nerds Catherine Gale and Claire Dawes, who are always ready to welcome visitors to the shop with general book chat and a cuppa.
