No bobbing along for the Robins

Andy Munro on Blues’ win at Bristol City.

After yet another excellent performance saw Blues win 2-0 away at Bristol City with the highlight if the game a cracking opening goal. As the song goes, I think I’m turning Japanese, I really think so! Yet it was a real team performance away to a decent Bristol City side and maybe old sour grapes himself, Nigel Pearson, might for once give us credit where it is due.

Blues’ win was built from the back with John Ruddy, Dion Sanderson and Kevin Long rock solid supported by their able lieutenants at full-back, although there’s a bit of concern regarding Ethan Laird’s premature departure.

In front of them the little and large combo of Krystian Beilik and Ivan Sunjic provided the perfect springboard for the talents of Siriki Dembele, Keshi Andersen and latterly Koji Myoshi and his wonder goal. One should not forget the reliable warhorse Juke, who got the second goal that put the result beyond doubt, showing Scott Hogan that his place is far from secure and also Junonh Bacuna, who again showed that gifted though he is, he can still knuckle down when needed.

Third in the league? Pinch me, someone.
