Velvet Music Rooms goes Euro

All-day celebration of Eurovision Song Contest finals at top Birmingham music bar.

A huge, nine-hour celebration of the Eurovision Song Contest on the day of next month’s finals will be held at Birmingham’s leading independent music bar.

Velvet Music Rooms has revealed its plans for what it has called the ‘Eurovision all-dayer brunch type thingy!’ from 3pm to midnight on Saturday 13th May.

The event has been organised in partnership with Wendy’s House promotions and will feature DJ Corey’s Back 2 the 90s aftershow rave, plus other outrageous DJs including The Divine Miss M and Scott Hilton.

Eurovision fans heading to Velvet at 200 Broad Street will also enjoy a cabaret, plenty of quizzes, games and a cheesy raffle in support of the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.

Dani Hadley, co-owner of Velvet, said: “We’re inviting Eurovision fans from across the West Midlands to join us for what will be the sparkliest night of the year! Our celebration will take place in Velvet’s exclusive firstst floor boudoir, where our massive, huge TV screens will show the outrageous Eurovision spectacle in its entirety, while guests lounge in a booth, sipping cocktails or guzzling pints.

“Before the show, the afternoon will be filled with the cheesiest of DJ sets, by Birmingham favourites Scott Hilton and The Devine Miss M, who we guarantee will be getting the crowd up and bopping to Steps, S Club, Queen and Wigfield!

“We’ll also have risqué comedy and sing-a-long cabaret with the award winning Marty (she likes to party!) Smith, plus fun Eurovision quizzes, camp games and a crowd-pleasing raffle to win cheese! The popular DJ Corey will then spin the discs for her Back 2 the 90s aftershow rave until midnight.

“Velvet has just launched its Bottomless Brunch offer, which makes this Eurovision event the perfect opportunity to indulge in unlimited drinks and to be entertained. As always, Velvet’s full, gorgeous food menu will be available, including tapas – oh, and free cheese and pineapple platter for tables of four or more!”

Early-bird tickets to Velvet’s Eurovision celebrations are available from £5, with bottomless brunch options available here.
