Rangers put through the Hoops

Andy Munro watches Blues grab a deserved win against Queens Park Rangers.

This was another great performance from the boys in Blue and a two-nil win over the high-flying Hoops gave us a fully deserved three points.

Blues were at it from the start, showing strength and commitment in defence and in turn Tahith Chong and Hannibal Mejbri not giving the Rangers defence a moment’s rest. In fact, it was no surprise when Auston Trusty scored yet again, powering home a set piece. Blues then went two-nil up when the ever-willing Emmanuel Longelo finished off a fine run with an equally fine finish.

The visitors plugged away fruitlessly in the second half, with an outstanding John Ruddy capping a fine performance with an excellent penalty save. Even then Blues made a number of chances on the break to seal the game with a third. Juninho Bacuna came on to show some coolness and class with youngster George Hall not far behind.

After beating a top of the table side maybe we can dare to dream; except that this is the Blues we’re talking about! And to finish off an excellent night, a word about the crowd, who were outstanding in their vociferous support from start to finish.
