Cadbury World unveils egg-stravagant chocolate masterpiece

Three-day event results in Easter special.

Chocolatiers at Cadbury World have Easter cracked this year, after revealing an egg-stra special chocolate creation.

Talented chocolatiers, Dawn Jenks and Donna Oluban, took three days to craft the egg, which stands at an impressive 3ft tall and weighs in at 40kg – the equivalent of 889 standard bars of Cadbury Dairy Milk.

The Bournville-based chocolatiers worked with solid milk chocolate to craft the detailed Easter scene, which takes residence in a giant Easter egg, resulting in a spectacular creation like no other.

The spring scene is made up of an intricate array of flowers, blades of grass and hedges. Moulded pieces of chocolate were measured and cut by hand to create the cherry blossom trees, before being secured to the scene with melted milk chocolate.

The chocolatiers hand-crafted the owl, fox and two bunny rabbits in the scene by piping layers of liquid chocolate into the shape of the animal, before hand-piping the features and adding a layer of coloured cocoa butter onto the animal figures to create their distinctive coat colours.

Chocolate flowers and leaves were also carefully hand-piped directly onto the egg, adding the final flourish to the idyllic spring setting.

The egg-cellent masterpiece is on display in Cadbury World’s Chocolate Making zone for visitors to see throughout the Easter holidays, and until the end of April.

Guests to Cadbury World over Easter can enjoy a brand-new live stage show, Freddo’s Easter Egg-Stravaganza, where the audience can watch the famous frog take on an egg-citing adventure as he attempts to complete the challenges set by the Caramel Bunny in order to receive a mystery prize.

What’s more, from Friday 15th to Monday 18th April, children will be able to embark on an Easter Egg trail through the attraction and enjoy an egg-stra special treat once complete at the end, as well as have the chance to win prizes in a creative Easter bonnet competition.

Elsewhere in the attraction, there’s plenty to explore and discover through a self-guided tour of Cadbury World’s chocolatey zones. Visitors can catch the talented chocolatiers in action and take a delicious taster for themselves in the Chocolate Making zone, before heading to the Have A Go zone to practice their piping skills and draw their name in chocolate.

Guests can also explore Cadbury’s history through the Aztec Jungle and Bull Street, before walking through time in Advertising Avenue to come face-to-face with the famous drumming gorilla.

No visit is complete without a stop at The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop on-site – perfect for souvenirs or stocking up on your favourite Cadbury treats for the journey home.
