Andy Munro on a traumatic few days for Blues fans.
I woke up to the news that Villa have clinched a place in the Carabao Cup final with a last minute goal, which may mean our last bit of bragging rights (ie. Winning the Carling Cup) could disappear in March. Then I hear that Villa are interested in bidding for our very own boy wonder Jude Bellingham. Are they (or the Birmingham Mail) taking the proverbial? Additionally it seems that our only signing may be a Villa loanee, the worst part being that he is a player who hasn’t even been able to get much game time at struggling Stoke.
All this was gleaned from the world’s worst website, the Birmingham Mail chock full of flimsy information, if and it’s a big IF, you decide to wait for a million videos and adverts to download in the time it takes to run a mile with your legs tied together.
So I decided to cheer myself up by going to St Andrews and booking two seats for a season ticket mate and myself, to watch our ‘home’ replay against Coventry City. Unfortunately, neither of us could book a seat unless it was in the Kop, where the amount of season tickets meant that only single seats were available, apart from a couple near the bottom of the stand – an option I reluctantly took.
The bottom line is that season ticket holders in anywhere but the Kop are being disadvantaged as the club won’t open other parts of the ground if they can avoid it, presumably to save money. Great times for Bluenoses!
