Acorns teams up with Midlands music festival.
Acorns Children’s Hospice has teamed up with event organisers SC Entertainment to give entrants an exclusive offer of £10 off tickets as well as the opportunity to win a family pass to Popfest with a celebrity meet and greet.
The Acorns Bubble Rush at Worcester Racecourse on Saturday, June 30 will see bubblers (also known as participants) make their way through a sea of multi-coloured bubbles.
The fun-filled 5km is being held to raise money for Acorns and help fund the charity’s care for children, and support for their families, across Birmingham and the West Midlands.
Phillippa Weatherhead, Senior Events Officer at Acorns, said: “This year’s Bubble Rush is taking place on the same day as Popfest at Blackfinch New Road. Why not combine the two and start your day with Acorns fabulously-frothy fundraiser before heading to the festival?”
All entrants will receive a coupon code for discounted tickets to Popfest, which will feature artists including Gabrielle, BoyzLife, Louise, SCLUB and East 17, as soon as they sign up for Bubble Rush.
Phillippa added: “While Bubble Rush will be brilliant fun for everyone who takes part, Acorns relies on events like these to raise the £10 million needed every year to continue providing vital care to families – so we need your support.”
The event will also feature merchandise and accessory stalls. Entry includes a free Bubble Rush t-shirt and finish line medal.
Steve High, Public Relations Manager for Popfest organisers, SC Entertainment, commented: “We’re delighted to be able to support Acorns Children’s Hospice and team up with this great charity to give Bubble Rush entrants discounted tickets to Popfest. Combining the two events will make it a terrific day out for people across Worcester.”
New for this year, the Star Bubblers scheme will see participants who raise £100 or more in sponsorship given VIP treatment on the day and receive a limited edition t-shirt and goodie bag. All Star Bubblers will be entered into a draw to win a family pass to Popfest and a meet and greet with a mystery celebrity.
Acorns provides specialist palliative care to life-limited and life-threatened children and young people, as well as support for the family. In the past year Acorns has provided care to more than 870 children and over 1,090 families, including those who are bereaved.
