Coming to Artrix

There’s a seasonal emphasis on comedy at Artix arts centre in Bromsgrove next month.

Foghorn Unscripted will be recreating the sumptous drawing rooms, murky streets and smoky taverns of Charles Dickens at Artrix on Wednesday 7th December.

In What the Dickens? you can cheer on plucky heroes and heroines as they struggle in their journey to find love and fortune in a world beset by adversity and poverty, meeting filthy hags and absurd snobs along the way. In this fast-moving audience-led romp, preposterous names, ludicrous coincidences and melodrama will delight and astound you.

Foghorn Unscripted present What the Dickens? on Wednesday 7th December at 8.00 pm. Tickets cost £10.00 (£8.00 over 60s & students)

As one of the UK’s best loved comics, Mrs Barbara Nice has found her way into the nation’s hearts. She knows a lot about the important things in life. Shopping, handbags, supermarket queues and a whole lot more. But don’t tell her husband about her glamorous lifestyle as a stand-up comic. He thinks she’s at the bingo. Or shopping again.

Barbara’s back in Bromsgrove by popular demand with her fabulous Christmas shindig. Expect raffles, a tombola, mince pies and lots of audience participation! It’s the perfect Christmas night out.

Barbara Nice’s Christmas Cracker is at Artrix on Monday 12th December at 8.00 pm. Tickets cost £12.00 (£10 over 60s and students)

Tickets for both shows are available from the box office on 01527 577330 or www.artrix.co.uk

A wide selection of comedy, family theatre, a Valentine’s Day Drive-In and a New Year’s Eve party are amongst the events featured in Artrix’s new Winter brochure which has just been published.

A spokesman for Artrix said “We have an exciting and varied programme this season. Bookings are flooding in and some shows already selling out, so we would advise people to book early to avoid disappointment.”

Copies of the new brochure are available at Artrix and Bromsgrove Library and details of all forthcoming events can be found at www.artrix.co.uk
