Cut-price burgers to aid homeless charity

Byron to celebrate Birmingham opening with bargain offer.

Byron is bringing proper hamburgers to Birmingham with the opening of a restaurant on New Street on Friday 21st October.

To celebrate the opening of the New Street restaurant, Byron will be offering diners hamburgers for 25p for one day only on Tuesday 1st November – all in support of Byron’s charity partner, One Feeds Two ®, which started life from an Edinburgh soup van.

Byron was founded by Tom Byng in 2007 with the mission of serving proper hamburgers like those he remembered fondly from his college days in the States – made from four cuts of properly sourced British beef, ground fresh, cooked medium so it’s pink and juicy, and served in a squishy bun with minimum fuss and fanfare.

Byron’s menu, created by Head Chef Fred Smith, keeps thing simple with a range of burgers, classic sides and homemade desserts, plus a regularly-changing special – currently, the Clucky Balboa, Byron’s new chicken special, here to challenge beef for the title of proper burger champion. The drinks list includes Byron’s carefully chosen selection of craft beers, bourbons, craft sodas, famously thick milkshakes and hard shakes, plus the new Oreo Freakshake, available exclusively this Autumn.

As with every Byron restaurant, the new Birmingham restaurant has a completely unique design, which takes inspiration from Cuba, Havana Good Time. Located on the site of an old ABC cinema, the restaurant incorporates tropical colours, leather seating and pared back plaster walls, with floor to ceiling windows, allowing the light to flood in, creating a relaxed and welcoming setting for diners.

Tom Byng, Byron’s founder, says: “We can’t wait to open the doors of our latest Byron restaurant in such a vibrant city like Birmingham. We look forward to welcoming customers into our first outpost in UK’s second city to try our proper hamburgers and new Autumn menu additions.”

Byron’s Birmingham New Street restaurant will create over 50-60 new jobs for the town, including roles across managerial, kitchen and front of house teams, both full and part time. For more information about One Feeds Two®, visit www.onefeedstwo.org
