Prog rocking Robin

What’s happening at Bilston’s top venue.

There’s an emphasis on prog rock old and new coming up at the Robin.

First up, on Sunday 19th June, are prog supergroup Frost*. Made up of musicians who have cut their teenth on everything from writing million-sellers for the likes of Atomic Kitten and X-Factor to playing with such acts as Steve Vai and Level 42, the band released their debut album Milliontown in 2006 and have continued on and off ever since. Their third studio album is due for release this year.

Another band new to the Robin are American husband and wife duo Hymn For Her, who will be taking to the stage on Tuesday 21st June. Their style has been called banjo-thrash-country-rock-acid-blues and their 2013 album Lucy & Wayne and The Amairican Stream won widespread critical acclaim.

Better known to Robin audiences are The Enid, who will be playing on Thursday 23rd June. The band are currently celebrating the fortieth anniversary of their debut In the Region of the Summer Stars and will be performing this album in its entirety for the first time in decades as well as promoting their latest release Dust.
