Fundraisers to benefit from White Horse dishes.
The White Horse pub and restaurant in Balsall Common has launched a new menu for Spring, bringing back its hugely popular lasagne to raise funds for The Lily Mae Foundation.
The contemporary dining venue on the Kenilworth Road has been inundated with requests for the return of the homemade pasta since the dish was dropped from its extensive a la carte menu last year. Now diners can enjoy the ‘original’ White Horse lasagne whilst helping a great cause – as the restaurant will donate 50p from every order to The Lily Mae Foundation.
Chris Kelly, owner of The White Horse said: “Many customers were disappointed when we took the lasagne off the menu so I’m sure the dish will be a ‘bestseller’ now it’s back. “We already have links with The Lily Mae Foundation through the Balsall Common Festival Fun Run and hosting the charity’s support meetings for bereaved parents and quiz nights. We’re looking forward to continuing our association and hope to raise a substantial sum, anticipated to be in the region of £1,000 during our year long commitment.”
Amy Jackson, co-founder of the Balsall Common-based Lily Mae Foundation which supports parents and families that have been affected by the loss of a baby due to Stillbirth or Neonatal Death said: “We are delighted to be receiving this further support from The White Horse and look forward to sampling the lasagne soon too!”
The Lily Mae Foundation was set up in 2010 to help and support parents and families that have been affected by the death of a baby. The Lily Mae Foundation also supports research to reduce the current high levels of baby loss and works to help change public perception of Stillbirth and Neonatal Death.
