Corporate sponsors sought for growing festivals

Here’s a chance to get your name associated with two quality festivals.

Organisers behind two of the fastest growing music festivals on the Midland’s events calendar are giving a rallying cry to businesses to help make this year’s events bigger and better than ever.

Nuneaton’s Big Boro Festival and the popular Lichfield Rocks weekend event are now seeking corporate sponsors and organisers believe that with the right support, this year’s events can be the biggest yet.

The events offer a number of opportunities to local businesses, particularly those operating in the consumer market, with sponsorship opportunities available from £400, ranging to £10,000 for a main sponsor, which will gain exclusive naming rights to Big Boro Festival. For Lichfield Rocks, sponsorship packages range from £180 to £3,500 for main sponsorship and naming rights.

The festivals may only be two years old but last year attracted such big music names as Scouting For Girls, The Rifles, The Twang, Lucy Spraggan and international DJ Lisa Lashes. Last year’s Lichfield Rocks event, held every year at the Bowling Green Inn, attracted over 2,000 people, while Big Boro Festival, held at Nuneaton Town’s football ground at Liberty Way, welcomed over 4,000 revellers. This year, organisers are looking to double the amount of visitors and sign up even bigger names to perform.

Kyle Perry, Managing Director of Make Me Original, the company behind the events, said: “Previously these events were completely self-funded and always proved to be a resounding success. We have had requests previously to open the event up to the local business community and provide sponsorship opportunities and this year, we have opened that door. These festivals are heavily marketed and growing every year, presenting local businesses with the opportunity to reach thousands of potential new customers, all in one place.”

Businesses that do choose to get involved in the events will benefit from their own dedicated press and marketing, their own sales outlets in the event venues, the opportunity to have sales literature handed out to all attendees and discounted sponsorship rates for 2016’s events. They will also receive a sponsorship pack which will show them how to get the best out of their investment.

Kyle Perry continued: “This is an ideal opportunity for businesses that sell or service members of the public; sportswear brands, IT service companies, local breweries etc. Sponsorship rates are very competitive and come with a host of great opportunities. We are also open to talking to businesses and being flexible on the benefits, so if you have an idea, we’ll happily listen to it. These festivals have grown rapidly over the past two years and are attracting more and more attention as flagship events in the Midlands calendar.”

While the Big Boro Festival is a corporate event, Lichfield Rocks is unique in that all the money raised by the event goes towards a good cause. Last year the event raised over £2,000 for the Mercian Regiment Benevolent Fund and a similar amount was raised in 2013 for St Giles Hospice in Whittington. Make Me Original have stated that a percentage of sponsorship for Lichfield Rocks will also be donated to this year’s chosen charity.
