Wolverhampton date for concert footage.
Light House is preparing to welcome One Direction fans to the historic Chubb Buildings for a weekend of new concert footage and interviews.
The world’s biggest band recorded the concert film in Milan’s iconic San Siro stadium Milan in their current Where We Are tour at the end of June, plus 15 minutes of back stage footage and exclusive interviews. The film, entitled One Direction: Where We Are – The Concert Film is being released for selected cinema screenings over one weekend – 11th and 12th October.
Fans will get a chance to re-live the tour, or experience it for the first time, close up in glorious high definition, at Light House, Wolverhampton – Liam Payne’s local independent cinema.
“Fans will get chance to buy tickets here in the city centre when they go on sale on Monday 28th July,” says Light House CEO, Kelly Jeffs. “Our café will be open, plus 1D crafts and gallery, where fans can bring or draw their own 1D artwork to display. We’ll also have a special edition of our Under 18’s Live Lounge, where visitors can come and perform their own songs or take part in 1D Karaoke and singalongs. Light House is the Black Country’s only independent cinema and this may be the first time many young people have visited The Chubb Buildings, so we’re looking forward to welcoming fans from all over the Midlands and beyond to Liam’s home town.”
Marketing and Events manager Julie Homfray added “As The Chubb Buildings are a former lock factory, we want to show the world how much Wolverhampton love Liam and the band by building a wall of lovelocks – padlocks initialled with fans’ and their favourite 1D member. Photos of our locks will be shared across the world’s social media as the big weekend approaches. The padlock wall is open for fans to come in from today, with the instagram and twitter hashtag #1DLovelocks.”
Julie added “Fans can also start bringing in their 1D artwork ready for display in the lead up to the events. The best pictures will be displayed in our balcony gallery for the big weekend for other fans to see, and will show that Wolverhampton has the most creative 1D fans!”
Tickets will be priced at £14 and £12 concessions, on sale from 10am on 28th July. There will be at least 4 screenings of the concert over the weekend, and demand is expected to be high for this one-off weekend event. Screenings and updates will be listed Light House’s website and social media. Light House Media Centre can be found in The Chubb Buildings on Fryer Street, close to Wolverhampton train, tram and bus/coach stations.
