Solihull School’s rugby players have proved they are among the best in the Midlands after lifting the prestigious Solihull Cup.
The Under 18 Sevens Team from the independent school for boys and girls in Warwick Road beat Adams’ Grammar School from Shropshire 24-19 in the final of the seven a side competition, which attracted 24 schools from ten counties.
The team won all five of their group matches, notching up 129 points and conceding only 14 points, in the invitation event held at Solihull School.
Cup winning success crowned an outstanding season for Solihull School’s Sevens team, which also reached the semi-finals of the Fylde Cup and the quarter finals of the Kings School Worcester Cup.
Solihull’s Under 15s also excelled in the Solihull tournament, reaching the final for their age group with victories in all their group matches.
The Under 15s rounded off their superb season by winning the Kings Schools Worcester Cup, beating Royal Grammar School, Worcester 31-12 in the Final.
Solihull’s U12s also tasted cup winning glory at the Nottingham Sevens Tournament and reached the final of the Bishop Vesey Sevens competition.
