Cadbury World will be casting light on the history of the brand with its specially-themed Heritage Weekends this autumn.
On Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October and again on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th November, Heritage Weekend will tell visitors the exciting tale of how the Cadbury business began and will give them the chance to meet Cadbury World’s Georgian and Victorian characters in the Bull Street zone. Children’s performers will also be on hand in the Cadbury World marquee by the African Adventure play area to help keep the entire family entertained.
Weather permitting, there will be an opportunity to take a walk with heritage talk around the historic Bournville Village. Visitors will learn about John Cadbury’s sons George and Richard, and their vision to create a new factory and a community around it, improving the quality of life for ordinary people in Birmingham.
Diane Mitchell, marketing manager at Cadbury World, said: “Generations of families who visit Cadbury World know and love the Cadbury name and the special activities this weekend will give them the chance to further understand and celebrate how he built the brand.”
In addition to Cadbury World’s seasonal activities, visitors can discover the origins of the cocoa bean in the Aztec Jungle, before walking through a full scale replica of Bull Street where John Cadbury opened his first shop in 1824, and having a go at writing their own name in smooth liquid chocolate in the Demonstration Area.
During Heritage Weekend on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October, Cadbury World will be running a charity weekend to raise money for Acorns Children’s Hospice. The attraction is encouraging visitors to take part in its donation drive by bringing in old clothing and toys, staff will be bag packing in The World’s Biggest Cadbury Shop and visitors will have the chance to win a bespoke Cadbury World chocolate hamper in the charity raffle.
