With less than a thousand places remaining, prospective runners are being urged to sign up now to avoid missing out on this year’s Bupa Great Birmingham Run on 20th October.
Already the biggest ever half marathon in the Midlands, just over 19,000 runners have so far registered to tackle the 13.1 mile course in less than four weeks’ time. The field is capped at 20,000.
Communications Director David Hart said: “It promises to be a fabulous day and is already the biggest ever run in Birmingham. There is still time to train and prepare for the run, but we are urging those interested to register now to make sure they are there on the start line on 20th October.”
Amongst those taking part will be Paralympian David Weir, celebrity chef Glynn Purnell, Free Radio presenter Russ Morris and former Aston Villa and England footballer Mark Walters.
This year’s Bupa Great Birmingham Run is the first to feature a 1.5km Mini event (suitable for children aged 3-8 years) and a 2.5km Junior event (for 9-16 year olds). Entry for the races, which take place before the main adult race on October 20th, is £10 per child. Places are limited.
