Police seek shooting witnesses

Victim of club attack remains critical.

Police in Birmingham are today continuing to investigate after a man was shot outside a Birmingham club on Saturday night

The 35-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being shot in the abdomen outside the Rainbow Warehouse on Digbeth High Street shortly before midnight. Two men aged 34 and 29 were arrested in connection with the incident and have been bailed with strict conditions while enquires continue.

This morning the officer leading the investigation, Detective Inspector Gary Plant, said: “The shooting took place ataround 11.47pm Saturday night. The motive for the attack remains unclear but initial enquiries indicate this was a targeted attack. We are this morning continuing to appeal for any witnesses who were in or around the club at the time and who have not yet spoken to police to get in touch.”

DI Plant added: “I would like to reassure anyone that has worries of any sorts that stops them coming forward and speaking to the Police, that we can support them in many ways to address those fears.”
