The Robin Guthrie Trio (Cocteau Twins) plus special guest support from Mark Gardener (Ride), will be heading to Glee Club Nottingham on Wednesday 6th February & Glee Club Birmingham on Sunday 24th February 2013.
Robin Guthrie was the chief sound architect of Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil, and his reverb-drenched style has had a significant impact on alternative music since the early ’80s. Numerous acts have emulated his style, and several others – including Felt, Ian McCulloch and Lift to Experience – have enlisted his production skills. His sound has influenced My Bloody Valentine, M83 and School Of Seven Bells.
Over the last decade he has released a series of challenging, excellent albums, EPs and soundtracks whilst based in France, and brings his current three-piece band to the UK for a rare but highly anticipated tour.
Mark Gardener was the frontman of iconic shoegaze/Britpop band Ride. Since the band’s demise in the late ’90s he has flourished as a sought after record producer and released occasional solo records.
