A new business magazine aimed at the top 10,000 business leaders in the West Midlands is to be launched at the beginning of 2013.
BQ West Midlands will be the fourth regional edition of Business Quarter Magazine as part of its ongoing national expansion both in print and online.
Published by Room501 Publishing Ltd, the magazine also has editions covering the North East, Yorkshire and Scotland, together with a comprehensive website offering additional news, entrepreneur features and business intelligence.
Chris March Managing Director of Room 501, said: “The BQ titles are no ordinary business publication. With unique content and a determined style, their aim is to inspire, enlighten and empower, embracing and reporting business success wherever it is found.
“In this way, BQ West Midlands will be a stimulating magazine that provides the inside track on what drives the region’s businesses, business leaders and entrepreneurs.”
BQ West Midlands will be distributed directly to the top 7,500 business leaders, with another 2,500 copies provided for top hotels, business lounges, conference centres and similar venues.
Experienced journalist and editor Steve Dyson has been appointed as editor of BQ West Midlands.
Steve said: “I’m delighted to be launching and editing BQ West Midlands which will aim to get to the heart and soul of our most successful business people, finding out what drives, inspires and motivates them.
“We will also report on recent developments that will have a significant impact on the West Midlands business landscape, providing in-depth analysis and debates from the experts on big issues.”
Steve is a former industrial correspondent at the Birmingham Mail, a title he went on to edit between 2005 and 2009. He also edited the Middlesbrough Evening Gazette from 2002 to 2005.
Since leaving the Birmingham Mail, Steve has run Dyson Media Ltd, providing media training and strategic services for various public and private clients, including bespoke courses for the National Council for the Training of Journalists and the Press Association.
He also commentates on the media for the BBC, www.holdthefrontpage.co.uk and various national titles, and has made and presented several series of ‘HARDtalk’ news interview programmes for BBC local radio.
Steve added: “It will be great to get back to editing, and the fact that BQ West Midlands is a quarterly title means it will complement my other work at Dyson Media, which will continue.”
