Brandon Lewis, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Communities and Local Government outlined the Government’s proposed changes to planning regulations at a Breakfast Briefing organised by Midland property specialists Gallan Group, planning consultants Turley Associates and property communications agency Belgrave.

The event, held at Bank Restaurant, Brindleyplace was attended by more than 100 guests and concluded with a lively Q & A.

Mark Barrow, Strategic Director of Development for Birmingham City Council also outlined the impact planning law changes would have on the city.

Marty Gallagher, Director of Gallan said: “We were delighted to welcome Brandon Lewis to be our guest speaker. It was a valuable opportunity for our colleagues in the Midlands property sector to learn more about some very pertinent issues for our industry.”

Andrea Arnall, Associate Director at Turley Associates added: “Brandon ’s positive communication of the Government’s commitment  to unlocking difficult sites was a really welcome statement.  We now need to see this commitment embraced by Local Authorities, with both enthusiasm and innovation, to ensure that development is delivered on the ground.”
