Become a Light House Ambassador

Light House on the look out for enthusiastic Ambassadors in unique scheme to build new audiences

Light House Ambassador schemeLight House Media Centre in Wolverhampton is launching a brand new Ambassador Scheme to develop its audiences for its programme of cinema, events and exhibitions and is calling for people to become part of a team of community networkers who spread the word about Light House to the local community. In return for exclusive benefits such as free cinema tickets, discounts in the café bar and on venue hire, social get-togethers and the chance to gain valuable skills for a future career or CV, Light House is asking Ambassadors to introduce new visitors to the centre and encourage them to visit.

More info can be found here and there will be launch events on Saturday 16 September (11am – 1pm and 1 – 3pm) and Thursday 20 September (6 – 8pm) when there will be a behind the scenes tour of the venue, a chance to meet the team at Light House, and interested parties can sign up to be Light House Ambassadors.

Through recent research conducted in 2011, Light House discovered that it has a very local audience who consider the centre to be a “hidden gem” in Wolverhampton, which more people should know about. Light House has faced increased funding cuts over the last 12 months which has meant cutting its marketing, advertising and print budget significantly and so has decided to try a unique new approach which encourages word of mouth – the most powerful publicity tool there is!

Audience Development Consultant Lindsay Wiggin said, “The role of the Light House Ambassador will be to encourage local people who’ve never been to Light House before to come along and enjoy a screening, exhibition or event. Our team of Ambassadors will help to promote us and act as chaperones for first-time visitors. You can become an Ambassador as an individual or as part of a group of friends/colleagues. In return for exclusive benefits we ask that from Sept 2012 – June 2013 our Ambassadors introduce new customers to the centre and encourage them to visit. We are confident that this sort of scheme will enable us to build on the positive word of mouth we know already exists when people talk about Light House and help us translate that into new visitors…and of course reward our loyal audience members who decide to become part of our team as Ambassadors.”

Anyone interested in becoming a Light House Ambassador should attend one of the Open day events on Saturday 16 September (11am – 1pm and 1 – 3pm) and Thursday 20 September (6 – 8pm) when there will be a behind the scenes tour of the venue, a chance to meet the team at Light House, and interested parties can sign up to be Light House Ambassadors.
