Artists invited to submit work to two unique digital open exhibitions

Submissions are currently being accepted for two unique open exhibitions; Touch Interactive 2013, for interactive artists and Screening 2013, for those working in film and video.

Touch Interactive and Screening 2013After receiving close to 40 entries from across the world last year, the West Bromwich arts centre are once again providing an opportunity for both early career and professional artists to display their work in an art gallery for free.

Now in their third year, both exhibitions will be displayed on The Public’s touch screens from 13 February to 5 May 2013, with the deadline for submissions being 13 January 2013.

The Public, famed for its commitment to digital arts, features a number of fixed interactive artworks including work by Blast Theory and Lia & Miguel Carvalhais, together with a changing programme of work by internationally renowned digital artists, including Josh Nimoy, Joanie Lemercier and Naren Wilks.

In 2013 the Black Country venue are looking for work that is fun, intuitive and engaging for audiences of all ages.

The artwork will be selected by the curatorial and technical teams at The Public.  Successful applicants will be notified by Sunday 20 January 2013.

Priority will be given to early career artists and filmmakers and those living or working in the West Midlands.
